PAT: Earth continuity / limit calculator

When it comes to portable appliance testing there are numerous different types of portable appliances that can be tested. Due to this variety of portable appliances, different testing parameters and/or limits have to be available for validation of test results.

The measuring function in which the measurement results change most frequently, or are subject to change, is Earth Continuity measurement. The reason for this is mainly in different lengths and cross-sections of power supply cords.

To make the Earth Continuity measurement easier to perform, Metrel has developed a special function called the Limit calculator, which enables the user selection of correct limits based on length and cross-section of the supply cord. There are several options/rules for calculation of limits available – based on the international or local regulation.
