Manual setup of a power quality analyzer prior to starting analysis of a selected electrical installation can be a time consuming endeavor, particularly if more than one analyzer has to be configured. Fortunately, there is an option to easily share the setup among the analyzers of the same model and with the same firmware.

There is an option in the PowerView3.0 PC software under “Tools” called “Instrument Configuration” (shown below), that enables local / remote analyzer configuration. Existing setup can be easily read from the analyzer (via Read button) and distributed to other ones (via Write button):

Setup can be saved through File → Save As:

Already saved file can be opened through File → Open:

This configuration can be done either locally, via the USB port, or remotely (Ethernet, GPRS or Wi-Fi).

With this Instrument Configuration tool it is possible to:

- Change the configuration settings (basic connection setup parameters).

- Manage recorder settings (general, waveform and transient) with remote start / stop.

- Change the setup of events, signalling, RVC, inrush, transients and measuring methods.

Fleet parameterization/configuration is supported for all Metrel power quality analyzers, but with one (aforementioned) limitation: saved parameter setup can only be used on the same model of instrument (e.g. MI 2893 Power Master XT) and with same firmware.
